Description
GHK-Cu (Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine copper complex) is a naturally occurring copper peptide first isolated from human plasma in 1973. It forms a stable complex with copper (II) ions, essential for its biological activity in research models.
In dermal research, GHK-Cu has been studied for its ability to stimulate collagen synthesis, promote fibroblast proliferation, and modulate matrix metalloproteinase activity. Its role in wound healing and angiogenesis has been the subject of numerous preclinical investigations.
At the genomic level, GHK-Cu has been found to reset gene expression profiles in aging human fibroblasts. Studies have identified over 4,000 human genes whose activity may be regulated by GHK.
